Soccer Gloves

Soccer Gloves

Soccer gloves are primarily used by the goalkeeper in a football match, but these days it has also become a fashion statement for top players such as Henry wears these gloves while playing the match. These gloves are to provide protection to the goalie when he saves the goal acting as a shock absorber, thus protecting his hands from getting hurt and his fingers as well. It is highly recommended and mandatory for the goal keeper to wear it thus helping to prevent injuries from occurring and a substantial loss to the team.

There are basically four types of Goalkeeper gloves; weatherproof gloves, finger protection gloves, match gloves and training gloves. For damp and wet conditions, weatherproof gloves are best suited. The material used in these gloves gives the best grip when gets wet and thus gives guaranteed maximum grip and secure catching ability which helps enhance the performance of the goalie.

Finger protection gloves are most suitable for the protection of fingers against hyperextension. These gloves work as a shop absorber when the ball hits the hand. The material used in these types of the gloves is hard and durable. It not only provides protection to the fingers against hyperextension but also provides protection if someone steps on the hand -- helping prevent the goalie from getting injured.

The third type of soccer glove is the match glove. These are made for the advanced training and match play and are made up of the best material available to offer the most amount of feel and agility to the goalie. Each glove is made to meet the demands of the top world Goalkeepers providing them with the best grip and an increased protection.

Last but not the least is the training gloves used by the entry level players and for general training purposes. They are built to provide an effective amount of flexibility. These gloves tend to be more durable than any of the other types mentioned above. This increases the lifespan of goalie’s gloves. Be it any type of the soccer glove, a good glove should serve the purpose of protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Goalie Gloves For Kids
adidas Response Junior Goalie Glove - My 9 year old wears these gloves for every practice and game. They've held up quite well and are a great value for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars These Gloves Are The Best I've Owned
REUSCH 1970030 RAPTOR PRO DUO ORTHO TEC SOCCER GLOVE - I've been a goalie for over a decade and these are the best gloves i have ever owned. They don't break up on indoor/outdoor turf as easily as some other places and they do the best to protect my "Kurt Warner" thumb from injury. They do seem to run a bit big for the brand. For example i get 10 in Nike/Adidas but went with a 9 here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Gloves
adidas FS Ultimate Carbon Glove - I've only used these a couple of times so far. They have a different feel from older Adidas gloves (slightly different material?) but the grip is awesome. Also, the rolled index finger on each hand was a great idea and makes for a cleaner release when you throw. I'm not a big fan of the zippers but I know their necessary if you want to change the spines so..... Overall I would give this glove a five out of five stars, so far but I still haven't beat them up too much! Also, what a great price I got them for! $38 off compared to some of the soccer specific sites!!!!!
